1000 lbs sisters star Tammy Slaton shows off her dramatic weight loss. The reality TV personality took to Instagram earlier this week to share nine photos of her much slimmer physique.
The uncaptioned post was met with much praise and encouragement in the comments from her followers and fans of the TLC show.
“I think I speak for everyone when I say WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU 👏,” wrote one user, with another noting that Slaton no longer had the tracheal tube she used to help her breathe, “Omg Tammy , you look amazing! And no more trach! I cried every episode this season! You did it girl! I’m so proud of you!”
“Have to admit Tammy, you have proven a whole lot of us wrong. Well done and keep it up! 👏👏👏👏👏👏,” another follower wrote.
The post was Slaton’s first since Feb. 14 and marked her return to the app after taking a short break from Instagram in March 2022.
Slaton’s weight loss journey has been documented in the final season of the reality show, with Slaton most recently meeting a major weight loss goal that made her eligible for weight loss surgery.
Lose weight of 717 lbs. to 534 lbs., Slaton could barely contain her excitement when she saw the scale.
“When I stepped on the scale and saw that the scale read 534.7, I kind of stopped breathing,” Slaton said on the Feb. 7 episode. “I’m about 14 pounds below my goal weight. From over 700, that’s a huge drop.”
She added, “I feel excited, proud, thrilled — just all the emotions. I proved everyone wrong. Everyone who doubted me, I finally got mine! My told-you-so moment!”
Slaton is a candidate for bariatric surgery with surgeon Dr. Eric Smith, and while her new photos show an even bigger change in her weight than viewers have seen on TV, it’s not yet confirmed if she’s had the procedure.
However, a Feb. 28 episode of the show shows Slaton being celebrated by her entire family as she leaves the Ohio rehab clinic where she had been to undergo weight loss surgery.
Her family’s support brought Slaton to tears, with the 36-year-old saying on camera that she “needed to know they love me no matter what” ahead of the surgery.
“I needed to know they’re there for me. They love me. That’s one of the biggest things that’s helped me get to where I am today,” she said.
